Academia, with is objectiveness and rigorous approaches, is something I strongly believe in. My current affiliations are with Aalto University School of Business, hosting my Academy of Finland postdoctoral fellowship on the theme on entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education in challenging settings. Other affiliations are Stanford University where I am going to be a visiting scholar during 2019 and The Royal Society (UK) and British Academy affiliation via a Newton International Fellowship nomination until 2024.
Nobel Laureate and a seasoned science diplomat Peter Agre once said to me in Pyongyang: “Jukka, you don't need to publish tens or hundreds of articles and do it all the time and stay alone at your office, just put out few of the biggest pieces in high quality journals with the people who are world-class scholars and you will be just fine”. The selected publications below are from 3 and 4 four stars journals, from different periods of my career so far.

For teaching, my recent focus has been on entrepreneurship (on venture ideation and formation) but I do not teach regularly at the moment. Previously I have taught topics ranging from leadership, international management, future studying methods to IT- systems. More content available on request.
Current speaking themes include topics such as doing entrepreneurship education in extreme settings, building startup-ecosystems, doing startup events, volunteerism, co-creation, science diplomacy, self-organising and participatory cultures.
Recently in academia, I have been giving speeches in Princeton University, Berkeley UC, Stanford University and gave larger audience speeches in Slush and Startup Grind conferences. I have wide range of expertise in organising both research and practical seminars. For requests, contact at: jukka-pekka.heikkila (at) aalto.fi
